Tell Claude what your site needs. Watch it get built.

CodeCanvas Studio connects Claude to your WordPress theme, pages, menus and media. Every change is snapshotted, so nothing is a one-way door.

One connection, the whole site

Claude works in the same places you do, through three kinds of tools.

Content

Create, edit and trash pages and posts. Set slugs, templates, categories, tags and custom fields. Upload images to the media library. Tools: create_content update_content upload_media

Theme and plugin code

Read, search, patch and create files in your theme. Scaffold a new plugin in one call. PHP is syntax-checked before it is saved. Tools: patch_file write_file create_plugin

Site structure

Build menus, assign them to theme locations, and change the title, tagline, front page and permalinks. Tools: update_menu update_settings get_settings

Built so a wrong edit is easy to undo

Letting an AI touch live code should feel safe. These guardrails are part of every tool.

  • Snapshots before every changeEach write, patch or delete stores the previous version. Restore it with restore_snapshot, even for a deleted file.
  • You choose which projects are visibleThemes and plugins stay hidden from Claude until an administrator ticks them in settings.
  • Deletes need explicit confirmationRemoving files, menus or content requires confirm. Permanent deletion needs a second flag.
  • Stale edits are refusedWrites check a file hash, so Claude can’t overwrite changes you made in the meantime.
  • Plugin source stays privateThe CodeCanvas plugin itself is never exposed. New plugins start inactive and locked.

Connect the MCP server

Add your site’s CodeCanvas endpoint as a connector in Claude.

Expose a project

In CodeCanvas settings, tick the theme or plugin you want Claude to work in. Choose read-only or writable.

Ask in plain language

Describe the change. Claude edits, then checks the live page and the PHP error log before it reports back.

Every tool, grouped by what it’s for

Read-only tools never change anything. Write tools are limited by the permissions you set.
